Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho has revealed that this digital law enforcement technology has been intentionally introduced to improve the quality of electronic law enforcement, making it more accurate, transparent, and professional. This aligns with the directive from the Chief of National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, for the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) to continuously present technological innovations for public safety.

The Precision Mobile ETLE Drone cameras are now equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. This sophisticated system is capable of identifying vehicle registration numbers in real-time, while simultaneously recognising vehicles exempt from odd-even traffic policies, such as government vehicles with red plates, public transport with yellow plates, and electric vehicles.

“This capability makes the enforcement process increasingly precise because the system can perform an initial screening of vehicles that are entitled to exemptions before violation data is forwarded to back-office officers,” Inspector General Agus told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

With this automated screening system, the potential for enforcement errors or incorrect fines can be reduced to a minimal level. “The system can distinguish vehicles entitled to exemptions so that officers can focus more on vehicles clearly indicated to be committing violations. With the support of multi-layered verification, the level of enforcement accuracy becomes increasingly high and professional,” he explained.

Patuh Operation 2026 is a regional independent operation that will be held simultaneously across Indonesia for 14 days, from 8 to 21 June 2026. Carrying the theme ‘Optimising the Transformation of Electronic Law Enforcement to Realise an Orderly Traffic Society’, Inspector General Agus has requested all regional traffic directors and heads to manage this operation with the same seriousness as the Eid al-Fitr homecoming security operations to ensure a tangible impact on the community.

In line with the digital transformation theme, Korlantas Polri is implementing a measured enforcement formula: 60 per cent electronic-based law enforcement (ETLE), 30 per cent non-ETLE (manual) enforcement, and 10 per cent sympathetic and educational warnings. The 30 per cent manual enforcement rate is maintained to accommodate regions or units that have not yet been reached by electronic surveillance camera facilities.

Regarding enforcement targets, Inspector General Agus stated that field officers and ETLE Drone technology will pay special attention to visible violations that pose direct threats to safety or those intentionally attempting to evade electronic systems. “The main focus is on violations not detected by ETLE devices, as well as actions that hinder the effectiveness of ETLE enforcement, such as driving against the flow of traffic, vehicles without number plates, or those with modified number plates,” Agus emphasised.

In addition to these national focuses, other priority violations will be adjusted based on regional characteristics, following an analysis and evaluation of local accident rates to ensure precision. Through the combination of advanced Precision Mobile ETLE Drone technology and a humanistic approach, Korlantas Polri hopes that Patuh Operation 2026, held ahead of Bhayangkara Day, can reduce accident rates and foster driving discipline rooted in the hearts of the public.
