JAKARTA - The construction of the Pattimura Toll Road Access in Salatiga City, Central Java, has begun as a new route connecting the Semarang-Solo Toll Road to the city centre.

The project, which started in April 2026, is expected to facilitate vehicle access from the directions of Semarang and Jakarta to Salatiga without needing to take longer detours through previously operational toll gates.

The Ministry of Public Works (PU), through the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), supports the construction of this toll access as part of the development of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road network.

The construction work is being carried out by the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT Trans Marga Jateng.

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stated that the construction of toll roads plays a strategic role not only in supporting transportation but also in strengthening regional economic growth.

The Pattimura Toll Access has been planned since 2023 and is targeted for completion in 2027 with a project value of Rp 113.35 billion.

The total length of the access is 1.66 kilometres, consisting of an on-ramp of 661 metres and an off-ramp of 998 metres. In addition, the project also includes the handling of Jalan Pattimura for 555 metres.

Currently, the work is still in the initial stage of land clearing and levelling before proceeding to the main structural work.

The project’s land requirement is 18,731 square metres, with land acquisition progress reaching 97.33 per cent.

Technically, the toll access construction includes the building of 15 box culvert units, three box underpass units, one secant pile unit, and four soil retaining wall (DPT) units.

The on-ramp is designed with one lane one-way with a width of eight metres, while the off-ramp consists of two lanes one-way with a width of 10.15 metres.

The Pattimura Toll Access is located at KM 451-452 of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road section. In the future, this access can be used by vehicles from the directions of Semarang or Jakarta to the centre of Salatiga City or vice versa.

Meanwhile, vehicles from the directions of Solo and Surabaya will continue to use the existing Salatiga Toll Gate.

With the new access, vehicles from the Semarang direction are expected no longer to have to take longer detours to enter the centre of Salatiga City, thus making the journey more efficient.

The project construction is carried out in accordance with the minimum toll road service standards with cross-sector coordination between the central government, local government, and the toll road business entity.

The Semarang-Solo Toll Road itself is part of the Trans-Java Toll Road network managed by PT Trans Marga Jateng, a business group of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, with a total length of 72.95 kilometres.

As part of the Trans-Java network, this section has so far been one of the main routes for logistics distribution and public mobility on Java Island.
