Pattimura Military Command Takes Action Against Sergeant LM Involved in Recruitment Brokerage

The XV/Pattimura Military Command is taking legal action against a soldier, identified by the initials Sertu LM, who is suspected of involvement in brokerage practices regarding the recruitment of Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldiers. Sertu LM allegedly promised successful enlistment to prospective soldiers in exchange for a certain amount of money.

The Head of Information for the Pattimura Military Command (Kapendam), Lieutenant Colonel Inf Adi Swastika, stated that his office has coordinated with the unit where the officer was stationed and has handed the matter over to the Military Police. According to him, the perpetrator is a member of the XV/Pattimura Operational Command Centre (Puskodalopsdam).

“We have coordinated with his Unit Commander, and it is known that the member has been absent without permission (THTI) for more than three days, even around two weeks, and has been reported to the Military Police (Pomdam),” Adi said in Ambon, Maluku Province, on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

He added that Sertlu LM’s alleged involvement in the recruitment brokerage practices took place while he was absent without permission from his unit. Currently, Adi noted that the relevant unit is still conducting a search for Sertu LM to confirm his whereabouts and to support the ongoing legal process.

“The leadership of the unit involved is not remaining idle regarding this issue. The first step taken is to conduct searches among those closest to him to determine his whereabouts,” said Adi.
