Pattimura Military Command Distributes 500 Basic Food Packages to Commemorate TNI Anniversary
The XV/Pattimura Military Regional Command (Kodam) distributed 500 basic food packages to the community at Merdeka Field, Ambon, to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Speaking in Ambon on Monday, the Deputy Commander of Kodam XV/Pattimura, Brigadier General Wawan Pujiatmoko, stated that the distribution of aid is a form of the TNI’s care for the community and an effort to strengthen the unity between the military and the people.
“We from the TNI will always be present as a solution for everyone in need, even in the most remote areas. We hope that the presence of the TNI can truly be felt by the people,” he said.
He noted that the food packages were distributed to those in need, including rickshaw drivers, public transport drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers (both traditional and online), and schoolchildren.
According to him, the TNI does not only carry out defence and security duties but also strives to provide direct benefits to the community through various social activities and service within the region.
“For us, the TNI and the people are like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated; different roles, yet one complete unity,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Maluku, Hendrik Lewerissa, stated that the 81st anniversary of the TNI serves as a momentum to further solidify the unity between the TNI and the people of Maluku.
“Hopefully, this 81st anniversary becomes a momentum to strengthen and increase the professionalism of the TNI alongside the people,” he said.
He assessed that a strong relationship between the TNI and the community is vital to supporting the creation of regional security and stability, ensuring that development in Maluku can proceed sustainably.
