The Pati Regency Government in Central Java on Sunday afternoon dispatched 16 buses to Jakarta to help residents of Pati return to their hometowns from their places of employment elsewhere.

The dispatch ceremony for the holiday travel fleet was led by Acting Regional Secretary of Pati Regency Teguh Widyatmoko at the Pati Regency Building.

“This programme is a manifestation of the government’s commitment in providing convenience and comfort for people who wish to return to their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 2026 with their families,” said Teguh Widiyatmoko.

He stated that this year a total of 16 buses were made available to transport holiday travellers as part of the Free Eid Holiday Programme 2026 organised jointly with the Central Java Provincial Government.

Of the sixteen buses, ten came from Pati Regency, two buses from Semen Gresik, one bus from Jasa Raharja, and three buses from the Central Java Provincial Government.

“Regarding bus crew preparations, health checks were carried out yesterday and the buses were inspected by the Transport Office. Thank God they are all in working order. We will also carry out another inspection before departure at Mini Indonesia Park,” he said.

Through this programme, he noted, Pati Regency was able to ease the financial burden on residents of Pati working in Jakarta as they would not need to purchase bus tickets, which typically carry high fares during the Eid period.

In addition, residents could undertake the journey home safely and comfortably whilst reducing traffic congestion during the Eid holiday season.

The Free Holiday Programme also represents a synergy between the local government, provincial government, and various parties in providing the best service to the community, particularly in the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijra.
