Pati Mass Organisations Hold Joint Prayer, United in Maintaining Public Order
Various mass organisations in Pati Regency held a joint prayer on Friday evening (21/8/2026) at Pati Square, voicing their stance for a peaceful, safe, conducive, and dignified Pati. The organisations arrived from 7.45 pm Western Indonesia Time, each wearing their respective organisational identity costumes.
The joint prayer and statement of stance was opened with remarks by Committee Chairman Ahmad Sulaim Habibi, who invited participants to pray together so that Pati remains calm, peaceful, and conducive. ‘We pray together so that Pati remains calm, peaceful, conducive, and dignified,’ he said from the stage.
The event continued with a collective statement of stance. Participants lit candles and switched on their mobile phone lights as they jointly recited the statement.
The statement was led by the Deputy Rois of the Pati Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama, KH Abdul Majid. Speaking on behalf of the public interest and for the preservation of security, order, unity, and the honour of Pati Regency, Majid declared several positions.
‘We are committed to keeping Pati Regency safe, peaceful, conducive, and dignified as a shared home for all residents,’ Majid said.
The statement further expressed support for conveying opinions as guaranteed by the constitution, while rejecting forms of aspiration delivery that are provocative, intimidating, anarchic, unethical, and potentially divisive to public unity.
‘We invite all elements of society to always prioritise the interests of unity and the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia above group or momentary interests. Differences of opinion are part of democracy, but they should not become a reason for division or commotion. Let us together keep the democratic space civilised,’ he explained.
‘We invite all members of society to prioritise dialogue, deliberation, respect for the law, and to maintain customary ethics and polite culture in expressing opinions,’ he continued.
Majid also urged the public not to be easily provoked by unverified information or misleading issues. The organisations expressed support for law enforcement officers to act professionally, fairly, and firmly in maintaining security and order while protecting the constitutional rights of all citizens.
‘We invite all residents to focus their energy and thoughts on maintaining peace and developing their own regions. Therefore, do not be easily drawn into actions outside the region that could potentially cause polarisation,’ he concluded.
