According to detikJateng, Sunday (24 May 2026), the agreement was reached after mediation between the families of the prospective bride and groom, as well as the family of the man who took her away.

The bride-to-be, identified as NAS (19), is from Dukuh Rambutan village in Tlogowungu subdistrict. The man detained with her at a hotel is DF (18), from Purwosari village in the same subdistrict.

NAS was originally supposed to marry Musalim (32), a resident of Tlogowungu, on Thursday (22 May) morning.

Tlogowungu Police Chief AKP Mujahid explained that mediation was conducted between the families of the prospective bride and groom, as well as the family of the youth who took the bride. It was agreed that NAS would marry DF immediately.

‘The prospective groom has cancelled the wedding and does not wish to proceed. Following their apprehension at the police station, they will now marry the man who took her, not the original groom,’ Mujahid told detikJateng.

He added that the first mediation was between the families of the female prospective bride and the original groom, resulting in Musalim’s family deciding to cancel the marriage.

‘Initially, we brought together the families of the female prospective bride and the groom, and they agreed that the groom’s family would call it off,’ Mujahid explained.

Subsequently, a second mediation took place between the bride’s family and the man who took her to a hotel in Jepara. They agreed to marry NAS and DF shortly.
