The Regent of Pasuruan, Rusdi Sutejo, has called upon all officials and members of the Civil Servants Corps of the Republic of Indonesia (KORPRI) to continue innovating. He also encouraged the strengthening of the organisation’s institutional framework to become more solid, both in terms of social aspects and welfare.

Rusdi conveyed this during the opening of the KORPRI Pasuruan Regency Working Meeting (Raker) at the Taman Candra Wilwatikta Hall on Thursday (24/9). He emphasised the importance of building esprit de corps and synergy among KORPRI members. According to him, KORPRI should not merely be a formal organisation but must also serve as a platform that provides tangible benefits to its members.

“The most important thing is how KORPRI becomes increasingly solid. There must be a sense of togetherness, mutual assistance, and mutual strengthening. Members should not only feel part of the organisation during formal activities,” he stated in a written release on Tuesday (29/9/2026).

Furthermore, Rusdi emphasised the importance of strengthening social assistance mechanisms through a mutual cooperation (gotong royong) approach. Moving forward, KORPRI will coordinate with TASPEN regarding a plan to increase contributions by Rp5,000 per member, with options for additional contributions adjusted to the choice and capability of each individual.

“The spirit is mutual cooperation. When a member experiences a misfortune, they should not be left to face it alone. KORPRI must be present,” he said.

Previously, the Committee Chair and Vice Chair of the KORPRI Pasuruan Regency Board, Diano Vela Fery Santoso, outlined several strategic organisational agendas. These include strengthening the KORPRI structure within work units, increasing social awareness for members, membership development, and efforts to establish business units aimed at providing economic benefits for members.

Another agenda involves expanding KORPRI membership by opening opportunities for non-civil servant employees in accordance with applicable regulations. KORPRI is also encouraging the formation of organisational business units as a follow-up to the inactivity of the Pasuruan Regency Government Employees’ Cooperative, which requires restructuring. This step is expected to introduce productive economic activities and provide benefits to members.

Additionally, the KORPRI Working Meeting discussed the restructuring of the organisational framework, which will be prepared for inauguration by Rusdi during the KORPRI Anniversary celebrations this coming November.

During the dynamic meeting, Fauzy, a KORPRI member who has successfully developed a business in the tourism sector, was also in attendance. His presence served as an inspiration to KORPRI members, demonstrating that amidst performing official duties, there are opportunities to develop economic potential creatively and productively.

“What is needed is not just the courage to start a business, but how we identify opportunities, manage risks, and consistently develop them. I hope we can all begin building independence and planned additional sources of income,” he said enthusiastically.

Fauzy shared his experience in developing his tourism business. He expressed hope that others would follow suit to develop their potential and creativity outside of their official duties, while still adhering to applicable regulations.
