Pasundan province not bad at all
Pasundan province not bad at all
From Pikiran Rakyat
After reading an article in Pikiran Rakyat entitled The support for the name change of West Java province written by H. Enday Hidayat in the May 20, 2001 issue, I would like to express my views and suggestions as follows:
First: West Java province should have been called Pasundan province or Sunsam province ever since the inception of the unitary Republic of Indonesia as an independent and sovereign country with its symbol of "Bhineka Tunggal Ika" (Unity in Diversity) pursuant to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
Second: to name a district of the unitary Republic of Indonesia after a certain tribe or ethnic group or even clan is not something negative at all. Isn't that in line with the will of the Creator, who has created human beings as man and woman, different nations and tribes, to then get acquainted with one another.
Third: with due consideration, to translate the aspirations and popular rights of a sovereign people into reality after first allowing the concept to mature.
