Pastor in Sikka Assaulted by Villagers, Police Intervene

A priest from the Maumere Diocese in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with initials FPA, is suspected of being assaulted by villagers in Kahagoleng Hamlet, Wolonterang Village, Doreng Subdistrict, on Wednesday (22/4/2026). The assistant priest of St Peter Kloangpopot Parish has reported the incident to the police.

The Head of Public Relations at Sikka Police Resort, Ipda Leonardus Tunga, stated that the alleged assault occurred around 5:00 PM WITA.

“The victim filed a police report on Thursday (23/4) at 12:30 PM WITA at the Criminal Investigation Unit of Sikka Police Resort regarding the alleged criminal act of assault,” said Leonardus when confirmed by detikBali on Friday (24/4/2026).

Leonardus explained that investigators from the Sikka Police Resort Criminal Investigation Unit are currently conducting an investigation by examining the victim, witnesses, and the reported suspects to uncover the incident, including the perpetrators and the motive.

“We will provide complete details after the team carries out a series of investigative efforts and police actions regarding the incident,” he emphasised.
