PASTI Task Force Halts Snapboost Operations
The Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has ceased the operations of an entity called Snapboost, suspected of conducting fraud by offering an illegal investment scheme. Satgas PASTI Chairman Hudiyanto explained in Jakarta on Tuesday that Snapboost claimed to be a social media monetisation platform using a Click to Earn (C2E) system, where participants would earn income through liking and sharing content on various social media platforms. The illegal activity allegedly offered an investment scheme by requiring the public to make a deposit to carry out various tasks, such as liking content on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Furthermore, Snapboost promised daily income, bonuses based on membership tiers, commissions for recruiting new members (member get member), as well as prizes such as motorcycles and cars for members who deposited funds in certain amounts. Based on coordination results, Satgas PASTI explained that Snapboost is known to have no legal entity or business licence in Indonesia, and the application or website used is not registered as an Electronic System Operator (PSE) with the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs. Satgas PASTI also found indications that the perpetrators periodically change the URL address using different names, yet maintain the same appearance, features, and operational mechanisms, suggesting they are interconnected.
