PASTI Task Force Halts 951 Illegal Lenders and Fraudulent MLM Investments
The Illegal Financial Activity Eradication Task Force (Satgas PASTI), operating under the Financial Services Authority (OJK), continues its intensive crackdown on the proliferation of illegal financial entities causing public concern. Over the course of the year up to 30 July 2026, hundreds of entities have had their operations halted.
Dicky Kartikoyono, Executive Head of Behavioural Supervision of Financial Services Business Actors, Education, and Consumer Protection and member of the OJK Board of Commissioners, revealed that year to date as of 30 July 2025, the OJK had received 25,729 complaints related to illegal entities.
“Satgas PASTI has identified and halted 951 illegal online lending entities, 241 illegal investment entities, 27 illegal pawnshops, and 2 other illegal financial activities, as well as a number of applications with the potential to harm the public,” said Dicky at a press conference for the OJK’s Monthly Board of Commissioners Meeting (RDKB), held virtually on Tuesday (4 August 2026).
Dicky also disclosed two recent cases successfully dealt with by Satgas PASTI. The first was the cessation of an entity called E Connext Venture Indo, suspected of offering the public an investment scheme based on multi-level marketing (MLM).
Secondly, Satgas PASTI also halted the activities of Snapboost, a platform claiming to be a click-to-earn monetisation service. The platform asked members of the public to deposit funds to complete “tasks” such as liking or sharing content, with the lure of daily income and member-get-member commissions.
“We continue to monitor and act against such schemes so that fewer members of the public are harmed,” said Dicky.
The OJK urged the public always to check the legality and licensing of an entity or platform before placing funds, particularly those offering abnormally high returns with a member-get-member structure.
