REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has proposed building an underpass at the Pasteur toll exit on Jalan Dr Djundjunan. This step is intended to reduce the traffic jams that frequently occur in the area.

“It’s currently under study, and I intend for it to be built. The Pasteur exit, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, always causes long queues of vehicles,” he said recently in Bandung.

He explained that vehicles exiting the Pasteur Toll immediately encounter a traffic light, leading to congestion. Therefore, a concrete solution is needed to address the traffic issues.

“One solution is an underpass. So the lane from the side (Jalan Surya Sumantri) would go underneath, allowing this (vehicles from the Pasteur toll exit gate) to go straight ahead,” he stated.

He hopes that the related study can be completed and meet the requirements. Dedi Mulyadi expects the construction to take place in 2027.

“If the requirements are met, it can be included in the budget revision to prepare the DED, and next year it can be built,” he said.

He also cannot yet confirm the budget required for building the underpass. “Not yet, as it’s going to be studied and the DED prepared,” he said.

As is known, traffic jams occur every weekend at the Pasteur toll gate exit. These vehicles come from various areas in Jabodetabek.
