The North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office opened passport services for the public during the Car-Free Day (HBKB) event on Danau Sunter Selatan Street, North Jakarta, on Sunday, 24 May 2026. Residents took advantage of the service to apply for passports over the weekend.

The programme is a follow-up to the second daily directive from Immigration Director General Hendarsam Marantoko regarding fast, accessible, and responsive public services under the ‘Immigration for the People’ ethos. Residents can now apply for passports more conveniently without having to visit the immigration office on weekdays, with the service conducted smoothly.

During the event, officers processed 20 passport applications via the M-Paspor app and 10 walk-in applications. North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office Chief Rendra Mauliansyah stated that the passport service at the HBKB location aims to make immigration services more accessible to the public.

“With the ‘Immigration for the People’ spirit, Immigration is coming closer to ensure all services are easily, quickly, and conveniently accessible to all segments of society,” he said.

He noted that the high public enthusiasm indicates a significant demand for easily accessible immigration services, particularly on weekends. The North Jakarta Immigration Office affirmed it will continue to enhance professional services tailored to public needs.
