JAKARTA — Several passengers have expressed satisfaction with the Transjabodetabek SH2 route connecting Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, citing its affordable fares as a key advantage.

Teti, 58, a resident of East Jakarta, stated she is considering the service as her primary mode of transport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang. “I was delighted to learn the fare is IDR 3,500, which is more economical than alternatives. I travel home to my village at least four times a year, and my son also frequently travels on business from his office,” Teti said when met at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

She noted that the cost of alternative transport adds up significantly with frequent air travel. Consequently, the Transjabodetabek SH2 service presents a more affordable option for her. “Compared to the airport railway, there is a risk of Transjabodetabek being caught in traffic, but this can be managed by departing earlier. I believe residents won’t object, especially at an IDR 3,500 fare,” Teti remarked.

Another passenger, Arif, 23, similarly commended the Jakarta Provincial Government for introducing a new, more economical option for reaching Soekarno-Hatta Airport. “It is more cost-effective and easily accessible from Blok M. The main advantage is that Transjabodetabek can serve passengers with last-minute airport needs, whereas the train could sell out tickets or encounter delays,” Arif explained.

Passengers wishing to continue to Terminals 1, 2, or 3 must transfer to the Kalayang train service or the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin officially inaugurated the Transjabodetabek SH2 route at Blok M Terminal in South Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026. “Following this, we will conduct an evaluation,” Pramono stated at Blok M Terminal.

He explained that after the evaluation period, fares are likely to increase, as the subsidy burden is substantial. “The fares will be raised to between IDR 10,000 and IDR 15,000,” he said.

In its initial phase, the service operates 14 buses serving passengers between 05:00 and 22:00 daily. With this fleet size, passenger waiting times or headway range between 10 and 20 minutes.

The route features 13 stopping points in Jakarta and 10 bus stops outside Jakarta, operating in both directions.
