JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter (KCI), has requested that victims of suspected sexual harassment during KRL journeys file reports with the police authorities.

This was stated by Karina in response to ongoing reports of suspected sexual harassment on the KRL that only reach security posts.

“What we encourage is for the reporter to be willing to report to law enforcement authorities,” said Karina at BNI City Station, Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

“Because KAI Commuter is not a party that can directly report without the victim’s involvement,” she continued.

Furthermore, station staff and security post personnel will provide recommendations on what the victim should do for long-term action.

If the victim wishes to follow up the report with the police, staff will accompany them until the reporting process is complete.

Karina then explained the reporting procedure for citizens who have just experienced sexual harassment on the KRL.

According to her, reports can be directly submitted to security personnel on duty inside the train carriages.

In addition, there are also personnel stationed at the stations.

“Both security personnel and passenger service staff. So all our personnel have been trained to handle situations involving reports of sexual harassment,” stated Karina.

After an online report is received, the communications team will contact the reporter.

Karina explained that, in principle, sexual harassment is an action that causes discomfort to the victim.

Therefore, she urged the public not to hesitate to report if they experience or witness suspected sexual harassment incidents.
