Passengers Shocked as KRL Green Line Disrupted by Lightning Strike
Passenger Nicolas Galih was contacted by detikcom on Monday (4/5/2026) and recounted that as the KRL entered Jurangmangu station, the lights suddenly went out and the train stopped for about five minutes. He said that shortly afterwards, station staff announced for passengers to disembark from the KRL. He mentioned that passengers were shocked because the electricity suddenly failed. He noted that the conditions at the time were heavy rain. Passengers got off the KRL and Jurangmangu station immediately became crowded. “Just shocked, but when the announcement came to get off, it started getting crowded and the conditions were also heavy rain,” he said. Galih said he was on his way to Sudimara. However, due to the KRL travel disruption incident, he decided to continue his journey using an online motorcycle taxi (ojol). “Yes, it was stuffy, sir, because it was also raining heavily and there was lightning earlier. So we got wet when getting off,” he recounted.
