Passengers Report Broken Escalator at Duri Station, KCI Apologises

KRL commuters have complained about a broken escalator at Duri Station, West Jakarta. KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has apologised for the incident.

In a post circulating on social media on Sunday (20/09/2026), passengers were seen having to walk up the broken escalator after disembarking from trains to transfer between services and exit the station. A buildup of KRL passengers was visible around the escalator area.

Responding to passenger reports regarding the escalator disruption, KCI VP Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda expressed apologies for the inconvenience caused by the incident.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the escalator disruption,” Karina stated when contacted by journalists.

Karina ensured that station facility repair personnel are currently on their way to Duri Station. The damage to the escalator at Duri Station will be inspected and repaired by the relevant technicians.

“At this moment, technical officers are en route to Duri Station to carry out repairs on the escalator,” she added.
