BEKASI, KOMPAS.com — KAI Commuter has stated that passengers of the Walahar Local Train alighting before the train came to a complete stop at Cikarang Station constitute a serious safety violation.

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan said the action risks endangering both the individuals and other passengers on the platform.

“This is a serious safety violation as it can harm both the individuals and other users waiting on the platform,” Leza said in a statement on Friday (29 May 2026).

“Commuter Line users should not open doors before the train has stopped,” Leza added.

He explained that this warning is crucial to prevent accidents caused by passengers rushing to alight while the train is still moving.

Leza noted that similar incidents commonly occur at transfer stations handling passengers switching from long-distance or local trains to the Jabodetabek Commuter Line.

Additionally, KAI Commuter reminded parents to supervise their children at stations, especially on platforms.

“Station security personnel are always on duty along the platform to assist passengers requiring help,” Leza said.

He urged all users to comply with safety regulations to ensure safe and comfortable journeys for everyone.

“By adhering to these simple rules, we not only protect ourselves but also respect the right of other passengers to a safe, comfortable, and secure journey,” he said.

A video uploaded by Threads account @andryanto_wisnuwidodo on Thursday (28 May 2026) showed passengers rushing out of carriages as the train was still moving into the platform.

Several passengers were seen losing balance and falling immediately after stepping onto the platform as the train had not fully stopped.
