JAKARTA – PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has reminded all passengers to comply with safety rules following an incident involving the detention of the Whoosh high-speed train doors at Padalarang Station. The incident occurred on Tuesday (7/4/2026) during the Whoosh service on the Padalarang–Halim route. A passenger held the doors that had begun to close because they realised they had left an item on the platform. KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa stated that such actions disrupt the automatic door system and impact journey operations. Eva emphasised that every Whoosh train is equipped with an automatic door system, which is a crucial part of ensuring journey safety. According to her, forced interventions such as holding the doors can disrupt sensors and the automatic opening-closing system. “Forcibly holding the doors causes the system to not function optimally and has the potential to cause long-term damage to the facilities,” said Eva. She added that such actions are unjustifiable in any circumstances because they violate rules and could harm other passengers. Staff are on standby to ensure all passengers board safely before the doors are closed. Additionally, passengers are asked to double-check their carried items before entering the train, as it is each individual’s responsibility. If items are left behind, passengers can report to staff for follow-up through the lost and found service. KCIC also stated that the passenger who committed the violation has been given a warning to prevent repetition.
