JAKARTA - Anila (34), a resident of Central Jakarta, stated that the ticketing payment system for the electric rail train (KRL) is still somewhat impractical for passengers travelling with family. This is because she, who was going with relatives and three children, had to perform five taps with five cards. “Sometimes a family has five or even seven children, so they need many cards. That’s quite cumbersome, isn’t it,” said Anila when met by Kompas.com at Tanah Abang Station, Central Jakarta, on Monday (23/3/2026). Therefore, she believes that the current system does not fully support the travel needs of families who want to use the KRL. Anila hopes that PT KAI can provide special cards that can be used for several people at once, especially for families. “If possible, the KRL could provide family tap cards so we don’t have trouble looking for the cards,” she said. “For the little ones, they’d prefer not to be charged fares,” added Anila. Anila herself is known to use the KRL mode of transportation to visit relatives in Srengseng on the third day of Lebaran. She departed from Tanah Abang Station to Srengseng via the KRL Green Line and alighted at Palmerah Station. After Srengseng, she plans to go to Depok, to another relative’s house for a holiday. “I want to go to Depok, to swim at the water attraction there,” said Anila.
