PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) branch office in Tangerang, Banten, has stated that passenger movements during the 2026 school holiday period will reach approximately 1.91 million people. “We have prepared a thorough operational plan to ensure all flight activities run smoothly, safely, and comfortably during the school holiday period,” said Heru Karyadi, General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, in Tangerang on Monday. He noted that to serve these 1.91 million passengers, there will be around 12,934 flights. This figure represents an increase of about 7.7 per cent for aircraft movements and 11.5 per cent for passenger numbers compared to normal conditions. “Therefore, we continue to strengthen the readiness of personnel, facilities, and coordination with all stakeholders to provide the best service to service users,” he said. The passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport during the school holiday period are expected to take place from 29 June to 11 July 2026. Various service preparations have been enhanced to provide a more enjoyable travel experience for passengers and families holidaying through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. “Operational readiness has been carried out, ranging from flight slot time arrangements, management of aircraft movements in the airport area, to the readiness of all operational personnel on duty in the terminal and airside,” he explained. “Various activations are being organised to create a more memorable travel atmosphere, especially for children and families,” he added. Activities that can be enjoyed include a Focal Point, an Airport Edu Tour, cultural parades from various regions in Indonesia, children’s music performances, and the distribution of Sweet Journey Gifts, which are special souvenirs for families travelling with children. Furthermore, during this school holiday period, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is also presenting an increasingly diverse shopping and culinary experience through the presence of food and beverage tenants that are currently the talk of the town both domestically and abroad. “As part of the activation, these F&B tenants are also presenting an iconic character installation approximately 7 metres high in the Terminal 3 area. The presence of this giant ornament is a special attraction for service users to take photos and capture travel moments with their families before continuing their journey,” he revealed. Heru added that the programmes presented are part of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s efforts to create a travel experience that is not only safe and comfortable but also enjoyable for all service users. “The school holiday momentum is one of the important periods for the aviation industry. Through the various programmes we present, we hope passengers can enjoy a more memorable journey from the time they are at the airport until they arrive at their destination,” said Heru.
