Passengers' Belongings Secured After Train Accident Incident in Bekasi, Here's How to Retrieve Them
PT Kereta Api Indonesia Commuter has secured several passengers’ belongings that were left behind in the Commuter Line series No. 5568A, which was struck by the long-distance train Argo Bromo Anggrek last Monday. These items have been handed over to Passenger Service officers at Bekasi Timur Station for cataloguing and safekeeping.
“Regarding the victims’ belongings that have been found, we have conducted cataloguing and storage at the Lost and Found of Bekasi Timur Station,” said Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, when confirmed by VIVA.co.id via short message on Thursday, 30 April 2026.
Karina further explained that currently, several passengers’ items such as bags, mobile phones, and other belongings have been gradually returned to passengers or victims’ families.
Meanwhile, based on an official statement from KAI’s VP of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, as of Thursday, 30 April 2026 at 08:30 WIB, a total of 85 items have been found. Of this number, 38 items have been handed over to their owners, while the remaining 47 are still in the process of being handed over.
Anne also explained the procedure for retrieving these items. Users, families, or relatives who feel they have lost items can directly come to Bekasi Timur Station and contact the Lost and Found service for the retrieval process.
Meanwhile, KAI Commuter guarantees that every reported item will be processed through a strict verification system to ensure the items are returned to the rightful owners.
“We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by all affected passengers,” said Karina.
