Passenger Traffic During Eid Exodus at Syamsudin Noor Airport Reaches 187,000
The number of passengers using flight services during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period at Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, reached 187,000 passengers. Meanwhile, the on-time performance rate was recorded at 74.6%.
This was stated by the General Manager of Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Stephanus Millyas Wardana, when closing the integrated Eid al-Fitr homecoming post on Tuesday (31/3). The homecoming post operated from 13 March to 31 March 2026.
During the homecoming period, passenger movements at Syamsudin Noor Airport increased by 4.3% compared to the previous year. The peak outbound flow occurred on 14 March with a total movement of 12,258 passengers.
“So during the period from 13-30 March, we recorded the peak outbound flow on 14 March with 12,258 passengers and 104 aircraft movements,” Stephanus explained. The peak return flow occurred on 28 March with a total movement of 13,858 passengers and 98 aircraft movements.
Overall, Syamsudin Noor Airport served 187,435 passengers during the 1447 H Eid al-Fitr period. To accommodate the increased travel needs, airlines also operated additional flights with a realisation rate of 94%.
“And overall, we recorded serving around 187,435 passengers, an increase of about 4.3% compared to the previous period,” he said.
This figure aligns with national air passenger movements. The management of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia recorded an increase in movements, one of which was at Syamsudin Noor International Airport.
On Monday (20/10), the inaugural international flight on the Banjarmasin-Malaysia round-trip route is scheduled with Air Asia airline.
Two airports in South Kalimantan Province, namely Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru and Bersujud Airport in Tanah Bumbu Regency, will serve international flights.
With all these preparations, Syamsudin Noor Airport is optimistic about providing safe, comfortable international flight services that meet global standards.
The return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah at Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, is increasingly crowded.
The planned extra flights are for destinations to Jakarta (CGK) with two flights using Garuda Indonesia airline, and Surabaya (SUB) with five flights.
