Trends in passenger and aircraft movements at Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo Regency recorded positive growth during the 2026 Lebaran Transport Post period.

Based on recap data from 13 to 28 March 2026, the number of passengers reached 713,318 people. This figure rose by 5.2 percent compared to the same period the previous year, which was 678,262 passengers.

This increase was also accompanied by a rise in flight frequency. A total of 4,719 aircraft movements were served, or an 8.8 percent growth compared to 2025, which recorded 4,334 movements.

On daily observations as of 28 March 2026, activity at Juanda Airport showed high intensity with a total of 313 aircraft movements. On that day, the number of passengers passing through reached 51,506 people.

“This growth reflects the high mobility of the community during this year’s Lebaran homecoming,” said General Manager of Juanda International Airport M Tohir, on Sunday (29/3).

Based on destination distribution data, Jakarta remains the main destination for air transport users from Surabaya. The busiest route during the 13–28 March 2026 period was Soekarno-Hatta Airport with 133,462 passengers, followed by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with 71,788 passengers and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport with 74,964 passengers.

Specifically on 28 March alone, the route to Jakarta contributed a significant figure with 8,905 passengers, followed by the Makassar route with 6,119 passengers, and Bali with 5,040 passengers.

Airport authorities continue to monitor operational smoothness through the Lebaran Transport Post to ensure aspects of safety, security, and passenger comfort remain maintained amid the traffic surge.
