Passenger traffic at Bakauheni Port increases as Eid holiday approaches
South Lampung (ANTARA) – Passenger ferry activity for Eid al-Fitr 2026 (1447 Hijri) holiday travel at Bakauheni Port has begun to show increased momentum on seven days before the holiday, or Saturday afternoon.
Partogi Tamba, General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch in South Lampung, explained on Saturday that as the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holiday approaches, the holiday travel trend has begun to show an increase in ferry passenger numbers.
“Passenger movements have been apparent since Friday, with 7,917 vehicles and 36,827 passengers recorded between seven and eight days before the holiday,” he said.
According to him, although the Eid 2026 holiday travel rush has begun to increase, he assured that all service systems are operating properly to ensure smooth public mobility.
Therefore, all anticipatory measures have been prepared, and readiness is being maintained to ensure smooth and safe service for users during that period.
“We urge service users to always monitor current weather information and reconsider their travel plans if water conditions do not permit, for the sake of collective safety and comfort,” he said.
The public is also urged to plan their travel carefully by booking tickets well in advance through the Ferizy application. Accurate personal data entry is considered important to expedite the service process at the port whilst ensuring passenger rights are protected should unexpected conditions occur.
