Passenger Numbers Surge at Gambir Station with 18,250 Travellers Departing on Eid Eve

Passenger numbers departing from Gambir Station in Jakarta reached 18,250 on 17 March 2026 at 18:00 WIB, representing a 4.4 per cent increase according to data from KAI Daop 1 Jakarta. The surge reflected heightened travel demand as homebound passengers began their journeys ahead of the Eid celebrations.

To meet the increased demand during the 2026 Eid holiday period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has provided a total seating capacity of 1,083,623 seats across its service network. The rail operator has deployed resources to manage the flow of travellers moving through the Jakarta station during this peak travel season.
