Passenger Numbers Hit 155 Million, Bogor Station Prepares 3 New Platforms to Increase Capacity

The continuous growth in the number of passengers on the Bogor Line Commuter Line in recent years has prompted the accelerated development of facilities at Bogor Station. KAI, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport, is expanding service capacity through the construction of platforms for tracks 6, 7, and 8, as well as strengthening connectivity with Bogor Paledang Station.

This development is being undertaken to anticipate the increasing mobility needs of the public and to support the operation of the 12-car Commuter Line (SF12) series, which possesses a larger passenger capacity. The expansion of platforms 6, 7, and 8 is scheduled to begin on 15 April 2026 and is targeted for completion by July 2026. The platform extensions are specifically designed to support the operational requirements of the higher-capacity SF12 train sets.

Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, stated that in 2022, the passenger volume for the Bogor Line was recorded at 102,054,022. This figure rose to 133 million in 2023, reached 145.9 million in 2024, and subsequently climbed to 155 million in 2025. “As of April 2026, the passenger volume for the Bogor Line has reached 51.8 million. Over the last three years, the Bogor Line passenger volume has increased by approximately 52.9 million, representing a growth of about 51.9 per cent,” said Anne. She added that this growth demonstrates that the Bogor Line has evolved into one of the backbones of public mobility within the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area.
