Jakarta — Passenger numbers for Eid 2026/Hijri 1447 holiday travel at Kalideres Terminal, West Jakarta, began showing an increase on Friday afternoon.

Kalideres Terminal head Nur Prasetyo stated that the peak homebound travel period is beginning today, with approximately 800 passengers departing and numbers expected to continue rising.

“If there is an increase of around 20 per cent from yesterday, we already have about 800 passengers,” Prasetyo said when contacted in West Jakarta.

Prasetyo explained that the increase in holiday travellers followed the completion of daytime activities in the community.

“In the afternoon, schoolchildren start returning home and people finish work. Those who have Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday off or on leave typically depart around 13-14 March,” Prasetyo said.

Padang in West Sumatra and other Sumatran regions are favoured destinations for holiday travellers departing from Kalideres Terminal. “Today’s favoured destinations are mostly towards Padang and throughout Sumatra,” he said.

Following completion of pre-ramp check activities several days earlier, Kalideres Terminal will conduct ramp check inspections again on Saturday (14 March). “The ramp check will begin tomorrow from 08.00-20.00 Western Indonesia Time. We are targeting approximately 30 bus fleets,” he said.
