Passenger numbers at Mengwi Terminal double ahead of Eid al-Adha
Passenger departures from Mengwi Type A Terminal in Badung Regency, Bali, have surged ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Adha long holiday, doubling compared to regular days since 22 May. ‘Passenger departures have risen since 22 May,’ said Head of Mengwi Type A Terminal, I Dewa Gede Tantara Tesa Putra, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Terminal authorities report daily passenger departures now exceeding 2,800, a significant rise from the usual average of 1,400 to 1,800. ‘The usual daily average is 1,400 to 1,800 passengers, but figures have now reached 2,867,’ Dewa said. Terminal operators anticipate peak passenger numbers this afternoon. Dewa stated the increase is solely due to the religious holiday period and expects the trend to continue for several days. Dewa said passenger service strategies at Mengwi Terminal have adopted those used during the recent Eid al-Fitr exodus, with all facilities on standby to prevent passenger congestion.
