Passenger Movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Decline on H-2 Before Eid
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch in Tangerang, Banten, recorded 159,814 aircraft passenger movements at the airport on H-2 of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE celebration. Based on daily data, of the 159,814 passengers, this was divided into 91,919 departures and 67,895 arrivals. Assistant Deputy for Communication & Legal at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch, Yudistiawan, said in Tangerang on Tuesday that based on the daily attachment data for Eid homecoming transport, there was a decline compared to the previous day, which reached 184,754 passengers. “Today’s passenger movements reached 159,814 people, unlike the previous day, which peaked on Wednesday (18/3) with an increase,” he said. Meanwhile, in Terminal 2, specifically domestic, 43,979 people were recorded with 342 flights. For international, 16,072 people with 110 flights or 9.77 percent. Then, passenger movements in Terminal 3 for domestic routes amounted to 28,871 people with 214 flights. Whereas for international, 28,606 passengers were recorded with 159 flights or 14.11 percent. According to him, the decline in passenger movements was due to the 2026 Nyepi celebration, with 1,127 aircraft movements recorded. In this regard, InJourney Airports, as the main manager of 37 airports in Indonesia, predicts that passenger movements for this year’s Eid homecoming period could reach 9 million people. Deputy Director of InJourney Airports Achmad Syahir said that the projection of an increase to 9 million passengers represents an increase of up to three percent compared to the same period last year. “In terms of passenger movements, it’s approximately nine million. That’s an increase of around two to three percent,” he said. In addition, InJourney will operate Lebaran Posts from 13-29 March 2026. All managed airports will operate 24 hours a day to meet services during this homecoming period. Furthermore, they will prepare around 16,000 personnel at various airports to serve Eid homecoming passengers to ensure optimal smoothness. “These facilities are actually not only for Lebaran transport, because we know that at this airport, safety, security, and compliance are very dominant, so we look at both airside and landside, all facilities are well prepared,” he explained. Where, he continued, based on predictive data for passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, there are around 179,000. Then, for the return flow predicted on 28 March, there are 198,000 passengers. “For Bali, on Saturday 14 March, around 67,000 passengers, and then on 28 March, around 73,000 for the return flow,” he said.
