Jakarta (ANTARA) - The arrival of passengers at Pasar Senen Station in Jakarta on Thursday, or H+5 of Lebaran, still shows high numbers in line with the ongoing Lebaran return flow in 2026.

Based on data from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta up to 09:00 WIB, the number of passengers arriving at Pasar Senen Station was recorded at 18,203 people.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that this figure is the highest compared to other stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region on the same day.

“Arrival volume still dominates compared to departures,” Franoto said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

Franoto said that the high arrival volume indicates that the return flow is still ongoing intensively, especially towards Jakarta and its surroundings.

Nevertheless, Pasar Senen remains the main hub for the return flow with the highest number of passengers.

Meanwhile, departures from Pasar Senen Station on the same day were recorded at 15,061 passengers.

This shows a significant difference between the number of arrivals and departures, indicating the dominance of the return flow.

Overall in the Daop 1 Jakarta region, the number of arriving passengers on 26 March 2026 reached 52,471 people, higher than the departure volume of 33,520 passengers.

The originating cities include Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Purwokerto, up to Bandung.

KAI recorded that the trend of high passenger arrivals has been ongoing since the start of the return flow on 23 March 2026, with daily arrivals ranging from 49,000 to 53,000 passengers.

To support the smooth return flow, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta continues to optimise services at the station, including adding staff, improving cleanliness, and strengthening security.

“KAI also urges the public to plan their journeys well, arrive early at the station, and ensure they have complete tickets and identification to maintain smooth departure and arrival processes,” he concluded.
