Paspampres Trains with US Marines, One Topic is Shooting
The Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) held a Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), or joint training, with the US Marine Forces Special Operations Command (US MARSOC). The exercise was conducted to sharpen the capabilities of personnel in carrying out their duties.
Paspampres Commander Major General TNI Edwin Adrian Sumantha, in a statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Wednesday, said that this activity is one of the strategic steps in strengthening the capabilities of the soldiers.
“This cooperation also reflects the close working relationship and friendship between the two institutions, and even more broadly between the two countries,” Edwin said in his statement.
According to Edwin, Paspampres soldiers are required to always be ready to carry out security duties in any situation and terrain.
To train that readiness, personnel must not only have good physical abilities but also be able to work together, be adaptive, solution-oriented, and professional.
Therefore, the personnel need more training portions to hone all those abilities. One of them is by partnering with elite US forces for joint training.
“Through this joint training, I am confident that all participants can take advantage of this very valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, as well as the best techniques and procedures possessed by each unit,” Edwin said.
