PASI stages pole vault training

SURAKARTA, Central Java (JP): The Indonesian Amateur Athletics
Association (PASI) Central Java chapter joined hands with the
province's Ministry of National Education chapter to stage pole
vaulting training.

The training, which started on Monday and finishes Friday, is
attended by 50 elementary and junior high school students, from
12 to 13 years of age. Twenty school teachers across the city are
also participateing in the training at the Manahan Stadium here.

The training is led by instructors from the PASI office in
Jakarta: Hadi Wacono, Ni Putu and Paulus Lay.

"We are very grateful to PASI for inviting the Solo chapter of
the Ministry to stage the training program for the students," the
head of the Ministry chapter, Isnawan, said Wednesday.

Hadi expressed hope that the training would encourage local
pole vaulters to be ready to compete in national and
international events. (har)
