PASI drops five from SEA Games
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Amateur Track and Field Association (PASI) has taken strict punitive measures against five male athletes. The five have been dropped from the 18th Southeast Asian Games national team for a discipline violation.
"They have proved to lack discipline by failing to join the centralized training stint on time," PASI's head of technical commission Pieter Noya said yesterday, adding that the errant athletes did not give reasons for missing the training stint.
The athletes comprised 200m runner Herman Balagase, walkers Turiman and Jauhari, long-distance runner Osias Kamlase and 400m Elizier Waterbozi.
"PASI will consider being lenient if they manage to shine in the Indonesia Open next month," Pieter was quoted by Antara as saying. (amd)
