Paser Police Arrest Three Drug Dealers in Long Ikis, Seize 39 Packages
The Narcotics Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Paser Police, East Kalimantan, has uncovered a drug trafficking network dealing in type I narcotics, specifically methamphetamine, in the Long Ikis sub-district. In the operation, officers secured three men along with dozens of packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution.
Chief of the Paser Police, Commissioner Novy Adi Wibowo, through the Head of the Narcotics Unit, Commissioner Suradi, confirmed that the case was revealed on Monday (11/5) and officially released on Friday (15/5). The three suspects were arrested while at a boarding house in the Long Ikis sub-district.
“The three suspects who were secured have the initials IY, 23, SF, 35, and M, 32. Officers seized a total of 39 packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution belonging to the suspects,” said Suradi.
The revelation of this case began with reports from the public regarding suspicious drug transaction activity in the Long Ikis area. This information was then followed up by the Operations Team of the Narcotics Unit of the Paser Police by conducting an in-depth investigation at the location in question.
From the search, police confiscated methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 18.40 grams. The details of the ownership of the illicit goods are as follows:
In addition to the methamphetamine packages, officers secured a number of other supporting pieces of evidence, including a digital scale, empty plastic clips, a smoking device (bong), CCTV equipment, several cell phones, cash, and one motorcycle allegedly used for operational distribution.
Currently, the three suspects along with all the evidence have been taken to the Paser Police Headquarters to undergo further legal proceedings. The suspects are charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with the latest provisions of the Criminal Code.
“The three suspects face a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years, life imprisonment, or even the death penalty,” Suradi concluded.
