Pasaraya's customer cards

JAKARTA (JP): Owner of Pasaraya Sarinah Jaya department store, PT Pasaraya Nusakarya, together with telecommunication firm PT Gratika and insurance firm AJB Bumiputera 1912 launched a tri- functional customer card yesterday.

The card, called Pasaraya Customer Club (PCC) three-in-one card, is a combination discount, telephone, and insurance card.

The PCC card, which Pasaraya's customers have used since 1990 as a discount card, will give customers a discount of between 2 percent and 10 percent at certain shops, hotels, travel agencies and entertainment venues.

As a telephone card it can be used with a service provided by PT Gratika, a subsidiary of state-owned PT Telkom.

PCC cardholders are automatically eligible for the Ekawaktu AJB Bumiputera life insurance.

Pasaraya president Usman Djafar said he was optimistic the PCC cards would attract about 10,000 members this year.

Usman estimated the new cards would increase the company's income by 25 percent this year from last year's Rp 300 billion.

"Customers want the most practical solutions to everything nowadays, they want cards that have more than one function," he said.

Pasaraya has previously issued credit cards with Bank Duta and debit cards with the state-owned Bank Export Import Indonesia. (02)
