Pasar Minggu-Tanjung Barat Through Road Project to Resume After Land Acquisition Completion
The parallel railway road project in Pasar Minggu towards Tanjung Barat will be constructed after land acquisition is completed. The Jakarta DKI Road Infrastructure Agency states that land procurement is still awaiting the South Jakarta Administrative City Land Office.
“The construction will resume after the land acquisition process is finished. Currently, the land procurement stage is ongoing at the South Jakarta Administrative City Land Office, which serves as the Chair of the Land Acquisition Implementation Team,” said the Head of Data and Information Centre of the DKI Jakarta Road Infrastructure Agency, Siti Dinarwenny, in her statement on Thursday (23/4/2026).
Siti mentioned that out of a total of 118 land plots, 59 have been acquired up to 2025. The remaining 59 plots are still in process.
“Among that number, there are eight land plots that are government assets,” she said.
For this reason, Siti affirmed the DKI Provincial Government’s commitment to completing the road construction. According to her, the development has been planned for a long time and aims to provide optimal benefits for the community.
“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Road Infrastructure Agency hopes for public support so that this construction process can run smoothly for the common good,” she explained.
Purpose of the Parallel Railway Road Construction
The construction of the Pasar Minggu parallel railway access road aims to serve as a through road to reduce congestion on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, especially in the morning and evening.
The project eliminates turns that cross railway tracks in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation’s Directorate General of Railways Letter No: A.576/KS/DJKA/X/2017 dated 27 October 2017 regarding the Handling and Closure of Level Crossings in the DKI Jakarta Region.
To create a new road access, this road will connect to the Pasar Minggu Parallel Railway Bridge. To support activities in the surrounding area, such as health, education, and economic facilities that increase the movement of people or goods, it provides comfort for residents by preparing pedestrian spaces, as there are health, education, and economic facilities.
It also shortens travel time to destinations, provides an additional alternative route, thereby reducing congestion in the area, increases road width as a connecting access between one area and another in accordance with planning design requirements and criteria, and reduces the load on road construction, thus distributing the load to other roads.
The administrative plan for the Pasar Minggu parallel railway access road construction is located in Pejaten Timur Ward, Pasar Minggu Subdistrict, South Jakarta Administrative City, with an area of 14,472.562 square metres.
10 Roads in Previous Plans
In 2023, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government planned to connect missing links to ease congestion. The Head of the DKI Jakarta Road Infrastructure Agency, Hari Nugroho, said that so far they have inventoried ten locations where roads will be connected.
On Thursday (5/1/2023), Hari explained that land acquisition for four roads is currently in process. The four are Jalan Waru, Jalan Seno-Masjid Al Makmur, the Bangun Cipta Sarana through road, and the access road to Rusun Rawa Bebek (2023 Plan).
The ten roads are located in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta. However, Hari noted that not all locations require land acquisition, so the construction phase can start immediately.
