Pasar Minggu more chaotic

From Pelita

The market area on Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, is
becoming increasingly chaotic as public transportation vehicles
and street vendors occupy the entire road around the market area.

So traffic jams are common in this area, from whichever
direction you come from. Buses pick up and drop off passengers
anywhere they feel like it around the market area, instead of at
the bus terminal.

The question is why do the local traffic police allow this
chaotic situation to continue. Should we suspect that they are
colluding with the drivers of the public transportation vehicles
so that the latter can simply ignore all the traffic signs?

Regrettably, the Pasar Minggu district chief has never been
serious in trying to put things in order in his territory. Should
we also suspect that he and the district administration are also
in collusion with the street vendors in the area, so that the
latter can safely occupy the area, which is legally off-limits
for any trade.

A few years ago, the area around Pasar Minggu was orderly.
Today all of that is history.
