Pasar Minggu layout to undergo changes

JAKARTA: The South Jakarta municipal administration plans to
make changes to the spatial layout of Pasar Minggu district, in a
bid to ease chronic traffic congestion and to clear the area from
sidewalk vendors.

"Without a comprehensive plan, it would be impossible to ease
the traffic and to make the sidewalk vendors occupy the kiosks
that have been provided for them," Mayor Dadang Kafrawi said on
Monday.

The municipality's development body will first hold a
feasibility study on the construction of a shop-bridge passing
over Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu and plans to connect the railway
station with the bus terminal. -- Antara
