Pasaman Police Arrest Two Drug Dealers in Padang Gelugur
The Narcotics Unit of the Pasaman Police, West Sumatra, has arrested two men, identified by the initials J (33) and AR (30), on suspicion of drug abuse and trafficking. The suspects were apprehended at a house in the Pasar Inpres Tapus area, Nagari Padang Gelugur, Padang Gelugur District, Pasaman Regency. Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Agus Hidayat explained that the case came to light following a public complaint about the rampant circulation of narcotics in the Pasar Inpres Tapus area. A resident, identified as J alias Jun, was strongly suspected of acting as a seller of methamphetamine and marijuana. Acting on this information, the Pasaman Police Narcotics Unit Operations Team, led directly by Head of Narcotics AKP Fahrul Roji, conducted an in-depth investigation. On Sunday, 19 July 2026, officers moved swiftly and raided the residence of suspect J, where both suspects were secured without resistance. From the two perpetrators, police seized a quantity of evidence suspected to be linked to narcotics offences, including one medium packet of methamphetamine in a clear plastic clip, one small packet of methamphetamine in a clear plastic clip, and one glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue. Officers also seized seven packets of marijuana wrapped in clear plastic (labelled 1 to 7) and one packet of marijuana wrapped in a clear plastic clip. Additionally, police confiscated supporting tools and other evidence, including one set of methamphetamine smoking apparatus (bong) and a lighter, one white bubble envelope, one black digital scale, one piece of cut plastic straw and two packs of small clear plastic clips, one black Poco mobile phone containing two SIM cards, and cash from sales totalling Rp250,000 (consisting of one Rp100,000 note, one Rp50,000 note, and five Rp20,000 notes). For their actions, both suspects are charged with multiple articles related to Category I narcotics offences (both non-plant type/methamphetamine and plant type/marijuana). Investigators applied the legal provisions as stipulated in Article 114 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, subsidiary to Article 609 Paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, and more subsidiary to Article 111 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2023 in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments.
