Simpang Empat — The Pasaman Barat Regency Government in West Sumatra has distributed social assistance to victims of hydrometeorological disasters that occurred in late November 2025.

“We have distributed social assistance to the victims. Hopefully it will be beneficial for them,” said Vanvoni Gorbhi, Acting Head of the Pasaman Barat Social Services Office, at Simpang Empat on Tuesday.

According to him, the social assistance distributed includes livelihood support for 77 heads of household for 90 days at 15,000 rupiah per person per day. The assistance also comprises permanent housing assistance of 3 million rupiah per household for 74 families and socio-economic stimulus assistance of 5 million rupiah per household for the same number of families.

“With this assistance, it is hoped that the burden on natural disaster victims can be somewhat reduced,” he said.

Pasaman Barat Regional Secretary Doddy San Ismail stated that the administration has submitted a list of needs to the central government for disaster victim relief. According to the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan submitted to the central government, Pasaman Barat requires a budget of 846.61 billion rupiah.

The floods and landslides that occurred in late November 2025 in Pasaman Barat resulted in five deaths and three missing persons. The disaster damaged 83 houses, 17 road sections, and 15 bridges, with 16 schools affected and 603.39 hectares of agricultural land damaged.

Additional impacts include damage to one market and seven kiosks, 23 places of worship, and three health facilities.

The estimated budget requirements for rehabilitation and reconstruction cover the housing sector at 5.7 billion rupiah, infrastructure at 680.8 billion rupiah, economy at 23.5 billion rupiah, social sector at 2.5 billion rupiah, and cross-sectoral needs at 133.8 billion rupiah. In total, the overall budget requirement reaches 846.61 billion rupiah.
