Party of critics
Party of critics
From Kompas
The ninth general election will be held in April 2004. All
Indonesians have high hopes that they will elect leaders and
members of the House of Representatives that can bring prosperity
to them. Dozens of new political parties with various backgrounds
have been established.
It is a good idea that outspoken critics of the government,
who have always spoken purportedly on behalf of the people, also
organize themselves in a political party. Who knows if their
party will win significant votes and then they can help realize
their ideas to build a just and prosperous society.
If these critics only voice their criticism, they may not see
their ideas become reality. If they become political players,
their ideas will become reality.
This will also be a litmus test to see if the people favor
their criticism and behavior. If the people are in favor of these
critics, their party will win a significant number of votes.
Practical politics is not taboo. This country needs people who
can end this crisis.
