Party clears office debt
DILI, East Timor: Yesri R. Brahmana's dedication to party
politics is unquestionable. Last month, she borrowed Rp 5 million
from a friend to open a branch office of the Indonesian Christian
National Party here.
But the lack of money failed to dampen her enthusiasm for the
party cause.
"What counts is the functionaries' working spirit, not money,"
said a worried looking Yesri when she opened the new office.
However, all's well that ends well, and last week Yesri, who
is married to Radjakarina Brahmana, the secretary to the East
Timor governor, settled her dues when the government granted the
party Rp 15 million last week, Antara reported. (pan)
