Partnering with Chinese State Giant, DMS Propertindo Accelerates Urbanova Edu Hub
PT DMS Propertindo Tbk. (KOTA) is exploring cooperation with a giant Chinese state-owned enterprise to develop the Urbanova Edu Hub area in East Surabaya. The state company in question is China Light Industry International Engineering Co., Ltd. (CLIEC), which is projected to work on the area designed as the first Edu Hub in Indonesia.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CLIEC, DMS Propertindo is exploring the implementation of the project under a turnkey scheme. This scheme allows the partner to handle a series of tasks from technical planning, engineering, procurement, and construction, to project completion according to agreed specifications. This step indicates that the development of Urbanova is being carried out with an integrated, efficient, and measurable approach.
Mohamad Prapanca, President Director of DMS Propertindo, stated that this cooperation is very important and positive for accelerating the construction of Urbanova Edu Hub. He noted that in recent years, China has emerged as a significant force in technological engineering and large-scale development. “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a strategic step for the Company to strengthen the development of Urbanova Edu Hub. We believe the experience, technological capabilities, and financial support possessed by China Light Industry International Engineering Co. Ltd will accelerate project realisation while improving construction quality,” Prapanca said during the Signing Ceremony between PT DMS Propertindo and CLIEC in Jakarta.
He added that this partnership is also very productive for both parties in creating added value and increasing company revenue. “This collaboration is expected to create sustainable added value, increase project value, and contribute positively to the Company’s future revenue growth. The realisation of capital expenditure financing is also increasingly positive with backing from CLIEC. Thus, the construction of Urbanova can proceed on time and with maintained quality,” he added.
Meanwhile, East Surabaya was chosen as the development location for Urbanova because the area already possesses a supportive ecosystem. The project is situated amidst a continuously growing educational and industrial environment. Urbanova is said to have a market potential of more than 64,000 students, with several universities located within a relatively close radius. On the other hand, the presence of the SIER industrial area also serves as a base for economic activity and labour.
