Particle 6 Develops First Feature Film 'Misaligned'
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Particle 6, a company founded by Eline van den Velden, is currently developing its first feature film, titled ‘Misaligned’.
The company previously created an artificial intelligence (AI) based film actor named Tilly Norwood.
“This film is going to be truly funny, chaotic, and self-aware — very Tilly,” Eline stated in a press release from London, UK, as reported by Deadline on Monday (6/7) local time.
Eline claims that since its launch, Particle 6 has trained and upskilled more than 30 creative workers across the technology, film, and television sectors. The company is now applying a similar training approach to the production process of ‘Misaligned’.
‘Misaligned’ is a comedy-drama telling a coming-of-age story filled with existential AI chaos. The film is set within the ‘Tillyverse’, a surreal digital world located somewhere within the cloud.
According to the synopsis, the film follows the character Tilly, defined as an AI entity without a physical body, a childhood, or her own life experiences, yet possessing access to the experiences of others. Conflict arises when a ‘mischievous bot’ from the dark web convinces Tilly to abandon her boundaries and begin developing impulses to act without consideration, pushing her own ambitions.
Eline stated that through its first feature film, Particle 6 aims not only to showcase the latest tools and applications they have developed but also to assist conventional filmmakers joining the crew in enhancing their skills and transitioning into a world where AI will play an increasingly significant role.
According to Eline, Particle 6’s ambition with Tilly has always been to demonstrate to the creative industry what is possible with AI at a given point in time.
