Participants in Karawang Gay Party Majority Underage
The Regional Secretary of Karawang Regency, Asep Aang Rahmatullah, has revealed shocking facts regarding the gay party incident at Helen’s Night Mart, Karawang, noting that most participants were underage. The incident, which took place on Saturday night (6/6/2026), is currently being handled seriously by various sectors. In response to the event, the Karawang Regency Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) moved swiftly on Sunday (7/6/2026). This culminated in the official sealing of the premises on Monday (8/6/2026) afternoon to halt the location’s operations.
“We are handling this alongside the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and the Police are currently conducting an investigation. Regarding the chronology, the incident occurred on Saturday night and went viral by Sunday afternoon. We acted immediately by instructing the Head of Satpol PP to confirm and verify the location of the event,” said Aang at the Karawang Regency Regional Secretariat Office.
Based on confirmation from Satpol PP, the management of Helen’s Night Mart Karawang admitted the incident occurred. Following this admission, the Karawang Regency Government took decisive action by implementing a temporary sealing of the venue for an indefinite period. To address this social issue, the Karawang Regency Government is designing a guidance programme involving collaboration across various agencies, including the Social Affairs Office, the Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A), the Health Office, the Education Office, and the Office of Population, Family Planning, and Reproductive Health (DPPKB).
“We are currently working on future guidance, as handling LGBT-related cases is not the sole responsibility of the local government, especially since the majority of the individuals in the video are underage teenagers,” added Aang.
