Participants in Bekasi Kopdes Manager Selection Face 567 Questions in Three Hours
Bekasi, Kompas.com — Thousands of participants attended the selection for the Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) programme for Koperasi Desa Merah Putih at Stadion Patriot Candrabhaga in Bekasi City, West Java, on Wednesday 20 May 2026. One stage drawing particular attention was the mental health test, which had to be completed within a relatively short time and with a very large number of questions. Afiful Haidar, 25, from Tapos district, Depok, said he had to face 567 questions in about three hours during that stage. He said the test was one of the most exhausting parts of the recruitment process that participants must go through. Previously, participants had also passed administrative, Computer Assisted Test (CAT), and ideology-mentality tests. Despite the difficulty, Haidar continued with the entire recruitment process hoping to pass and secure a more stable job. He said the opportunity was also hoped to help his family’s economy. Haidar is a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education. However, since graduating he has not worked formally as a teacher. He says he chose to take part in the selection because he believes job opportunities outside the teaching profession are more economically promising. ‘In my view, teacher salaries in Indonesia are still low. Meanwhile, my responsibilities as the eldest child are enormous,’ Haidar said. For this selection Haidar even had to depart at 05:00 WIB from Depok to Bekasi. The SPPI selection uses a national ranking system. Of around 101,000 participants across Indonesia, only about 32,000 will be accepted to fill the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih formation.
