Parliament's Commission III Summons Propam General, Dirkrimum, and KontraS Representatives Over Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) has summoned the Head of the Provost Bureau of the National Police’s Propam Division, Brigadier General Naek Pamen Simanjuntak, the Director of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, and representatives from KontraS to the DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

They jointly held a meeting regarding the case of KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, who was doused with acid by personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces’ (TNI) Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS).

“In accordance with the attendance list, the quorum of factions has been met. I request that this meeting be declared open to the public. We extend our thanks to the leadership and members of Commission III of the DPR, the Head of Criminal Investigation along with their teams, and the legal representatives of Mr Andrie Yunus for attending today’s meeting,” stated Habiburokhman, Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, while leading the meeting.

This was followed by representatives from KontraS voicing their perspectives.

“After that, there will be in-depth questioning from the members, followed by the closing,” said Habiburokhman.

Habiburokhman emphasised that this meeting is part of a series of previous discussions.

Habiburokhman claimed that they have already held three meetings regarding the handling of the Andrie Yunus case.

“There have been two conclusions so far, and depending on the situation, we will always hold meetings like this whenever there are developments. With that, we invite the Director of Criminal Investigation,” he added.

Coordinator of KontraS’s Working Body, Dimas Bagus Arya, stated that the attack caused Andrie to suffer injuries to several parts of his body.

“Particularly on the right and left hands, face, chest, and eye area,” Dimas revealed to Kompas.com on Friday (13/3/2026).

Andrie was subsequently rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

From the examination results, he was found to have burns covering approximately 24 per cent of his body.

Dimas explained that the acid dousing incident occurred shortly after Andrie finished recording a podcast titled “Militarism and Judicial Review in Indonesia” held at the office of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) in Jakarta.
