Parliamentary Plenary Approves Polri Bill as a DPR-Initiated Proposal

Jakarta, VIVA – The DPR’s plenary session has approved the Rancangan Undang-Undang tentang Perubahan atas Nomor 2 Tahun 2002 tentang Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia (RUU Polri) to become a DPR RI-initiated proposal. The decision was taken at the 19th Plenary Session of the 5th Session Year 2025-2026 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The session was presided over by Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa. Before the decision was made, each political party faction submitted its views in writing to the DPR RI leadership, which were then approved by all DPR RI members present.
